As the number of mountaineering accidents rise due to many reasons, it may not possible to prevent all of them. But they can be minimized and their effects reduced by creating better response systems in case of these events.

Secondary research

Data about human factors and technical aspects behind mountaineering and the common causes of accidents using data from organisations like UIAA, Indian Mountaineering Foundation and Akhil Maharashtra Giryarohan Mahasangha, their rules and guidelines, certificate courses, levels and different equipment, products, devices, etc., rescue organisations and protocols

Primary Research 1

Data analysis on a survey of 40 participants, consisting of questions regarding experiences related to mountaineering injuries, accidents, etc., and comparing different emergency situations by understanding their experiences with leaders, thought process in emergencies, decision making and risk taking behaviours

Primary Research 2

Further interviews of some of the respondents of the survey and case studies along with previously collected data to map out different problem areas and their interrelations

Final Concept

A system design which considers three different levels of interventions and mapped out how the system would work
